In a series of four interactive workshops June 24 & 25, master teachers who teach math at both the secondary and postsecondary levels, and in both self contained and mainstream classes, shared examples of best practices for math instruction in this workshop for Math teachers and trainers. With an emphasis on experiential learning, presenters provided workshop participants with effective instructional approaches including cooperative learning, online tutorials, and new strategies for engaging deaf and hard-of-hearing students in learning math. Each participant left with a specific plan for implementing some of these techniques in their own classrooms, and trainers will go back to their host institutions to train other teachers in these approaches.
Resources developed as part of this workshop are available under Math Resources.
